Jason Parker

Jason Parker lives with his family on the San Juan Ridge, “out on the frontier,” he says.  Many years ago, he made a commitment to live off the grid and now is building his self-sustaining home there. He reminisces, “I used to work on old cars for a hobby; I feel much better wrenching on the solar system than the fuel-burning cars and trucks.” I strongly believe in sustainable design, green building, and the use of recycled and recyclable materials.”

This busy dad is also a film maker and, with his kids, recently created a short film for the South Yuba River Citizens League Wild and Scenic Film Festival.  He now has a documentary about a local musician in the development stage. Jason also helps out at the Sierra Family Medical and Dental Clinics, an organization he describes as “ good people doing good things for the community.”
