Glamping Coming To Nevada City!

Glamping.

I have to admit, when I first heard the word “glamping”, I was curious. As a lover of the outdoors, I’m down with roughing it for a few nights with the family. The struggle of doing without is part of the allure of camping, right? So, when I heard that Nevada City was getting its first in-town campsite complete with the “glamping” option, I was intrigued.

If you don’t know what glamping is, you must know what camping is. Glamping is the product of combining the rustic goodness of camping with the amenities and simple luxuries of home … almost like a really nice outdoor bed and breakfast. Glamorous camping = glamping.

After some digging (i.e. late night web surfing) I learned a few exciting facts about this new Inn Town Campground:

• It’s owned and operated by longtime local business owners Erin and Dan Thiem of the Outside Inn, a sweet hotel here in downtown Nevada City. If you’re looking fora crazy cool spot to stay INDOORS, you should definitely check out the Outside Inn.
• At the Inn Town Campground, there are three options for you to choose from: the traditional tent campsites, the more luxurious glamping canvas tents, or RV sites with hookups for you year-round, professional travelers.
• Glampers really have it made. Each tent has electricity and a fully furnished bed, custom headboard and lighting, plus a small porch for lounging.
• The site really is “Inn” town – 2 minutes, in fact, from all the excitement of downtown Nevada City. While you’re close enough to enjoy the variety of restaurants, locally owned shops and all the entertainment downtown has to offer, you’ll forget how close to town you are when you’re tucked away in your private, heavily forested campsite.

The Inn Town Campground is an awesome addition to Nevada City. Erin and team have a clear vision of what makes our area so special. By combining tradition and vintage with modern style, they’ve captured the essence of this historical community.
