So many events and so little time! Doesn’t it seem like the best events of summer always end up scheduled for the same day? I’m all about getting out of the house to socialize, but sometimes it’s hard to choose where to spend my time.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. This isn’t really a bad problem to have, I know. I’m extremely lucky to live in such an enriched area – festivals, fairs and parties galore. Life in Nevada County is never boring.
Just so happens, three of my favorite events are coming around and wouldn’t you know it, they’re happening on the same day! Sierra BrewFest, Grills n’ Grilles, and my personal choice Nevada City Uncorked are all scheduled for Saturday, August 27th. I’m pretty sure I’ll only make it to one of these events; however, with the right planning you could stop in and enjoy all three.
Here are the details:
Grills n’ Grilles
9:30AM to 4:30PM
Western Gateway Park
Wine and beer and barbecue tastings galore! This is the perfect first stop especially if you’re looking to grab a bite to eat before heading to the next event. I love the fact that the Annual Derek Sorenson Memorial Disc Golf Tournament kicks off the day. Parents, there’s even a kid’s area!
Nevada City Uncorked
1:00PM – 4:00PM
Love, love, love Nevada City Uncorked! I’m usually on Broad Street, enjoying the event or at my office at the top of Broad while folks are exploring and tasting in Nevada City. The brilliance behind Uncorked is that wine and food tastings are held inside local businesses. This is such great exposure for our local business owners and allows for a true look at what makes Nevada City and Broad Street truly unique.
3:00PM – 6:30PM
Nevada County Fairgrounds
Live music, games, food trucks… oh, and did I mention the beer tasting? The Sierra BrewFest website boasts that attendees can taste over 100 hand-crafted beers. Local restaurants will be on hand as well in case you get the munchies. This is a great ending location if you’re trying to hit all three events. Remember to call a cab and drink responsibly!
Choose one, or choose all! Either way, it’s another fabulous Saturday spent in Nevada County.
