I’m a little biased, I know. I can’t help it – I think Nevada City is pretty much the greatest place to live, anywhere, ever. Close the book. End of story. The reason I say I’m just a little biased is because I’m finding that I’m not the only person who thinks this way!
From shopping to food to entertainment to community, Nevada City has too much to offer to showcase fully in one blog. Blogging is time consuming and frankly, while I love writing about my little town, I can’t always cover everything that happens here. It’s impossible. And I’ve discovered that I don’t have to…
I am a huge believer in teamwork and supporting one another. That’s why I need to spend a few minutes praising some of my fellow local bloggers. These guys get it – they know what makes Nevada City tick and better yet, they spend time sharing that knowledge with everyone else! If you’re looking to move to Nevada City, are living in Nevada City and just want to know more about what’s happening, or love to vacation in Nevada City, these blogs are must-reads.
Let’s start with the InnSide Nevada City Blog. I’ve written about Erin Thiem before in several posts, from talking about her Outside Inn on Broad Street to sharing about her new glamping hotspot. Erin writes around 5-8 blog posts per month depending on what’s happening in Nevada City and the surrounding areas. She also holds these great giveaways that highlight products from local shops, artists, and vendors. As a Nevada City advocate and local businesswoman, Erin is killing it!
I’m also a huge fan of the KVMR blog. KVMR is a Nevada City radio station and is all about local. The folks at the station create their own blog posts so you get several different voices and points of view (which I love). And you get to hear about so many different topics and interests that relate to Nevada City. Plus, KVMR is an all-around awesome radio station.
Nevada City Retreats is a blog I stumbled on recently. It’s ran by a Nevada City family that offers vacation rentals. They do a fantastic job posting about local Nevada City events and happenings, some that I didn’t even know about until I read it on their site.
Maybe one of the most popular local blogs, Go Nevada County isn’t solely focused on Nevada City but instead shares news from across Nevada County. Head to this blog for a look at upcoming and past events, and impactful local news. They’ve done a stellar job at adding lots of blog categories for easy navigation around their site.
Lastly, a fairly new blog that deserves recognition is Treats, a locally owned ice cream shop in downtown Nevada City. They might have just started blogging, but I love that they’ve started off locally minded and by sharing their appreciation for others! Plus… ice cream is goooood.
